M+ Opens

The highly anticipated M+, Asia’s first global museum of contemporary visual culture, opened on November 12.

Located in the West Kowloon Cultural District (WKCD), M+ showcases nearly 8,000 collections of 20th and 21st Century visual culture within an Asian context that encompass visual art, design and architecture as well as moving images.

Spanning 65,000 sq m, and 17,000 sq m of exhibition space, M+ features 33 galleries, three cinemas, a mediatheque, a learning hub, a roof garden, two museum shops and restaurants.

Designed by world renowned architecture firm Herzog & de Meuron in partnership with TFP Farrells and Arup, the M+ building is an architectural icon.

Together with other arts and cultural facilities in the WKCD, M+ reinforces Hong Kong’s status as Asia's cultural hub.
