Ties between Hong Kong and the Americas fostered

An online caucus connecting Hong Kong Business Associations in Canada, the USA and Latin America was held on December 2. The Americas Regional Caucus is one of the highlights of the annual Hong Kong Forum for delegates from the Americas to connect and exchange views on directions of their respective associations.

The caucus was attended by members of the Hong Kong-Canada Business Association, National US Hong Kong Business Association and Hong Kong-Latin American Business Association.

Speaking at the online event, Director of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in San Francisco, Ms Jacko Tsang thanked the Hong Kong associations and business associations of Northern California, Southern California, Nevada, Hawaii, Washington, and Northern Texas for their support and effort to promote business connections between Hong Kong the western part of the US. She particularly highlighted the creativity of the associations in organizing virtual events during the pandemic to encourage networking and showcase Hong Kong businesses. Ms Tsang looked forward to further collaborations with the associations in fostering ties between Hong Kong and the western part of the US.

Participants of the event were also briefed on Hong Kong’s latest business environment and Hong Kong’s anti-epidemic strategy.

Other speakers at the webinar include Director of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Toronto, Ms Emily Mo; Director of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in New York, Ms Candy Nip; Regional Director, Americas of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, Ms Regina Lai; and presidents of the Hong Kong associations.
