| Inbound air passengers to Hong Kong are now only required to provide a negative rapid antigen test result within 24 hours of departure.  Rather than staying at a quarantine hotel, they now need to undergo 3 days of medical surveillance at home or at a hotel of their choice. Hong Kong residents who are not fully vaccinated are allowed to return to Hong Kong.  For non-Hong Kong residents aged 12 or above, only those who are fully vaccinated or hold a COVID-19 vaccination medical exemption certificate can enter Hong Kong. Prior to boarding a flight to Hong Kong, travelers are required to provide a negative result of a rapid antigen test (RAT) taken within 24 hours of departure, instead of a PCR-based nucleic acid test conducted within 48 hours. Under the latest arrangement, after arrival and upon completion of a PRC-based nucleic test, arriving passengers can leave the airport to undergo a 3-day medical surveillance at home or in other self-arranged accommodation. During the self-monitoring period from Day 3 to Day 7, the travelers would need to undergo the prerequisite PCR and RAT tests.
