To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in San Francisco (SFETO) hosted a series of events in September, including a gala dinner in San Francisco in California on September 12, as well as receptions in Seattle in Washington and Houston in Texas on September 15 and 21 respectively. The events were attended by close to 300 guests, including consuls general and diplomats, state and city officials, members of academia and business as well as community leaders.

Inbound air passengers to Hong Kong are now only required to provide a negative rapid antigen test result within 24 hours of departure.  Rather than staying at a quarantine hotel, they now need to undergo 3 days of medical surveillance at home or at a hotel of their choice.

As part of a series of activities in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in San Francisco (SFETO) sponsored the 2022 San Francisco Dragon Boat Championships (the Championships) on September 24 and 25 at Lake Merced in San Francisco.
